Kelly Anderson: Persistence leads to success!

"Successful people never have time for excuses."

In early April of this year, Kelly Anderson was bound and determined to become a Gold Canyon Fragrance Consultant. After reaching out to five different Consultants to find someone to sponsor her, she had received exactly zero responses. It wasn’t until she called a sixth Consultant that she finally got a reply.

Throughout her first few months, she focused on sharing her new business with her family and friends. This method got her qualified in just three days, earning her $500 in candle Cash for her sales volume. But she knew she wanted more. So she attended Palooza. And that one event sparked a flame in Kelly that would be hard to extinguish. Already planning to return next year, she made a promise to herself.

“I knew I was not returning next year as just a Fragrance Consultant. I wanted a team, to earn an income while working from home and a free trip to Punta Cana. I now had the tools along with an amazing product.”

The problem was that time is very hard to come by in her house. She takes care of the eight children she and her husband have brought into their home through foster care and adoption. And, as a Lifeflight medic, he works long hours. So every moment is precious for Kelly.

One innovative tool she developed is to pack ten of her favorite scent samples along with a catalog and a few order forms into a pencil pouch and pass it around to everyone she knows. This even includes sending it to school with her children for the teachers with a note. This tool resulted in $473 in orders!

Kelly even works with her Hosts to create Gold Canyon Power Hours. She works with her friends to open their homes to set up a Gold Canyon display on their dining room tables for an hour while their friends stop by and shop. Her most important rule is to send a catalog home with everyone who comes by.

Just since Palooza, Kelly has grown her downline to 11 Consultants, is less than 5,000 points away from earning a trip for 1 to Punta Cana and has already been promoted all the way up to Junior Team Leader! She firmly believes that her success is just a matter of hard work. “I work hard everyday! Successful people never have time for excuses. If I can do it so can YOU!”

Shortly after giving birth to her son Jacob, Lisa wanted to find a way to care for her now seven children while getting out of the house once-in-while and having fun. Having known and loved Gold Canyon for the past 15 years, she figured there was no better way to meet her needs. Lisa jumped head-first into the opportunity to become a Gold Canyon Fragrance Consultant just four months ago.

Married about a year and a half ago, Lisa and her husband never had the chance to take a honeymoon. Then, barely a month after joining, she learned about the Annual Achiever's Trip to Punta Cana and her motivation skyrocketed. In the last four months, she has personally sponsored five new Consultants, earned $1,100 in Candle Cash for Quick Start and an additional $100 in Candle Cash with the Quick Start Bonus for achieving 500 PV in her first 30 days. In August she promoted to Leader and followed that up in September with a promotion to Junior Team Leader!

To top it off, she's already earned the Punta Cana trip for one, and shows no sign of stopping or slowing down any time soon.

"My whole life changed!"

Danielle has been a fan of Gold Canyon for nearly 10 years. Over that time, she’s developed something of a candle habit. She and her husband both work full time, and while they don’t have any children, they do have four “fur-babies” who they love very much. So when Danielle’s babies, Gavin and Louie, were diagnosed with skin cancer and thyroid cancer, she did everything she could to help them. Problems started to arise when the veterinary bills began mounting. After struggling with the financial stress for a while, she came to a realization.

“It FINALLY hit me. Gold Canyon could give me that chance for flexibility, income, friends and fun [all while] supporting my candle addiction,” Danielle said.

So, Danielle reached out to her Consultant, Jody Zavala, on July 28, 2015 and became a Fragrance Consultant herself. She was so excited to share her love of Gold Canyon that she began sponsoring other Consultants right away. In fact, in her first two months, she promoted four times and has sponsored eight of her own friends and family. Six of those new sponsors have already qualified as well.

Gold Canyon and Danielle’s upline have helped her supplement her income and meet great people she now calls her “GC Family”. “My whole life has changed at this point.”

To date, Danielle has earned more than $1,500 in Candle Cash for sales and sponsoring as part of her Quick Start. During her Quick Start Bonus period, she also earned an additional $500 in Candle Cash, for a total of $2,000 in candles and decor. In September, she earned the title Junior Team Leader and took part in the Gold Canyon State of Mind Incentive by sponsoring a new Consultant from outside of her home state, earning her some extra cash.

Danielle set her sights on earning a ticket for the Annual Achiever’s Trip and did it! “I'm humbled and grateful to have earned the trip of a lifetime to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. After having to live so conservatively for many years, this all-inclusive trip IS a dream come true. Thank you to Gold Canyon for all that you have done for me as I work my ‘little candle business’.”

Fundraisers Lead to Gold Canyon Success

“I started with Gold Canyon on April 15, 2015, the last day of a $79 deal!”

Jodie Blitzke was already a fan of Gold Canyon’s products. Besides those she’d already used in her own home, Jodie was a fan of the fundraiser program and used it to help support her son’s sports team. But as her son prepared to move on from 8th grade into high school, her son’s coach asked her to continue on with their fundraising. She also knew the costs to cover his sports activities would only increase for her family personally. In addition, her own 90-day membership to her Orange Theory Fitness, which she’d won, was soon to run out, and she wanted to continue going.

As the coming wave of costs mounted, she happened to run into a friend at the gym she’d not seen in several months, Chantel Griswald.

"I was talking to her one day before class, catching up on the last 5 months with her and telling her about Andy’s football and how I wanted to be able to keep going to Orange Theory Fitness. And she asked me, 'Why not sign up for GC?' Now, Chantel had asked me this before a year earlier when we got to talking about our boys and their football dreams. Back then, I had said no, that was not for me. I can do well with fundraisers but not at selling. But this time it was different, I said, 'Sure why not!' "

Jodie considers herself “beyond blessed” that Chantel did not give up on asking her to join GC. She believes that since joining, she has been able to accomplish things she had always talked about, but had never put into action. In fact, so far she made several achievements:

Sold $2328 in first 2 1/2 months
Signed up two Consultants in her first 38 days
Went all out for the June birthday month with 5 Mixers, achieving her PV goal, helping both her downlines make their PV goals
She made Senior and Premier promotions in one month!
Won a $100 gift card, $50 gift card and the July Host Special just for booking and holding Mixers
Had lunch with Gail and Tom at Palooza, where she shared her idea of creating a mini car ScentMate™
Walked across the stage at Palooza for her double promotions and won two free pillow cases in the Chase Your Dreams Incentive
In July, after Palooza, she signed up four more Consultants and is already looking to sign up 1 to 2 more by the time this issue of Happy News published

“I have seen a lot success, spoke in large crowds, managed people, and you know—the whole corporate world thing. But I really wanted to connect with other people, meet new people, and get out of my routine. Gold Canyon has actually given me that and so much more. I step out of my comfort zone every day and I LOVE it! I meet so many new people and this isn’t selling to me; it is sharing something I love! I have bought Gold Canyon for years (6) and I don’t know why it took me so long to join, but again, thank you to Chantel for not giving up after the first no!”

But Jodie’s successes so far are small compared to where she wants to go. She has a dream. She’s dreamin’ of the Dominican. Her current plan is to get 90% of her points by the end of September. How is she planning to get there? By working with her team to get them qualified for promotions in August, she hopes to earn the double bonus points toward the trip. With two big fundraisers scheduled for September, she’s still putting more Scent Mixers on the books. She’s even created a spreadsheet to track her goals to make sure she hits her target date.

“I look back to the day I signed up. I only wanted to do 5 hours a month, and now look at me! I want to be the next Patty Byler, Jody Zavala, Chantel Griswald and every other inspiring team member we have! I went to my first team meeting two weeks after I signed up. The energy, the stories, were beyond words. I went home and told my fiancé, 'This is what I want to do and I was HOOKED!' Go to the meetings, participate on the group Facebook page, surround yourself with positive people, never give up on your dreams, and remember 'no' does not mean 'no' forever—I am living proof! My favorite part about this business is being inspired by you all to be better and getting to actually see my dreams become a reality!”

As a mother of three with a full-time job, Bri Riedel was already a fan of Gold Canyon's candles. After all, her sister-in-law had been sending them as gifts for several years. But on January 15 of this year, she took the step to become a Consultant in her own right. Soon after, she held her first Mixer. According to Bri, "People on Davis Monthan Air Force Base really love the product."

Over the next few months, Gold Canyon's popularity spread. With so many people who had never heard of GC in the first place, she dove in head first with Try•Lights. "I handed them out to so many people because I believed that once they tried the product, they would be hooked. And boy, did it work!"

Bri's work with Try•Lights kicked her earnings into high gear. During her first 100 days, she earned more than 1,800 PV and qualified a new sponsor. She even earned $350 Candle Cash between the Quick Start and the Quick Start Bonus programs.

Dedicated to blazing her own trail, she knew that Palooza was a key to her success. "I remember sitting in the audience during the Awards Banquet. I turned to my upline, Diana Rossi, and I said 'It is my goal to be up on that stage next year.' "

But it was more than just the Awards Night at Palooza that motivated her. Besides getting on stage, she found another target: the annual Achievers Trip to Punta Cana. It quickly became obvious she needed a plan. She knew that building a strong team was how she was going to reach the beach. "The first step in my plan was to sponsor as many people that I could right out of the gate, and not only sponsor them, but make sure they qualify."

As soon as she returned from Palooza, she kicked her business into high gear by sponsoring four new qualified sponsors. Three of those new team members came on board during the post-Palooza triple point period and the fourth in August for double points.

Bri also set her sights on making full use of social media. Besides using Facebook to train her team members, some of which are on the other side of the country, she's also reaching out to local groups to offer free samples! Between setting up fundraisers, hosting more Mixers, and getting promoted. In fact, Bri earned even double-promoted in August from Senior Consultant, right past Premier Consultant to Leader! It's easy to see where this up and coming Consultant is headed.
